Personas — Overview
Who you're writing for — rich character profiles with demographics, goals, frustrations, and quotes that steer every article the AI generates.
What is it?
The Personas screen is the client's persona library. Each persona is a detailed profile: demographics (age, role, location), goals, frustrations, buying motivations, preferred channels, and representative quotes. Personas group into Target Audiences (a client usually has 2–4 audiences, each with 2–4 personas). Content Studio pulls from this library — you pick personas per article, and the AI writes with their voice, pain points, and priorities in mind.
When should I use it?
- You're onboarding a new client — build the persona library before writing content.
- You're refreshing an existing client's strategy and want to re-align content with target audiences.
- You want to see which personas have been writing-for recently (persona content counts).
- You want to approve or reject AI-suggested personas the app auto-generated during onboarding.
How to use it
- Open Personas from the sidebar.
- Review the client's Target Audience sections. Each audience contains a grid of persona cards.
- Click any persona to open the detail view — demographics, bio, goals, frustrations, quotes, channels, questions they'd ask.
- Click Edit to modify, or + Create Custom Persona at the bottom for a blank new one.
- Drag personas between audiences to re-assign.
- Unassigned Personas at the bottom holds ones not yet attached to an audience.
Tips and best practices
- 3 well-developed personas beat 10 shallow ones. The AI writes better content from detail-rich profiles.
- Use persona quotes generously — they're the single best signal to the AI for tone.
- Add persona questions they'd ask — these feed adapted content directly.
- Review persona relevance scores in Content Studio before each generation — low scores mean the keyword doesn't match that persona.
Gotchas and limits
- Personas are per-client. Switching clients loads a new library.
- Some personas are marked as AI-suggested — they're draft proposals until you click Approve. Approved personas have a green check badge.
- Target audiences come from the client's profile. If audiences are missing, set them in the client's profile under Agency Manager.
- Viewers see personas but can't create, edit, or approve.
