Plans — Edit a Plan

Every field on a draft plan is inline-editable — name, objective, rationale, per-piece title, keywords, CTA, funnel stage, personas, internal links.

What is it?

The Plan Detail screen for a plan in Draft status. Click any text to edit it; saves go straight to Firestore. Once a plan moves to Approved or Running, editing locks (a small padlock appears next to the status pill) so the queue worker isn't generating against a moving target.

When should I use it?

The auto-generated objective or rationale needs a human pass.
A piece's working title or primary keyword isn't quite right.
You want to swap a piece's persona, internal links, or funnel stage.
You want to skip a piece — uncheck it in the Approve modal later, or change its keywords.

How to use it

Open the plan and stay on the Pieces tab.
Click any title, keyword pill, or rationale to inline-edit. Press Enter (single line) or Ctrl/⌘+Enter (multi-line) to save; Esc to cancel.
Use the dropdowns to change funnel stage, content type, or the CTA placement.
For keywords use the Primary dropdown (drawn from the pillar+longtail pool) and the + Add picker for secondaries.
For internal links use the + Link picker — pick any sibling piece. The Logic Map updates immediately.
Use the + Add persona button next to the persona row to assign personas to a piece.

Tips and best practices

Keep secondary keywords to 2 max per piece. The article generator enforces anti-stuffing: each secondary appears at most once verbatim.
If you change a piece's primary keyword, double-check it's not already someone else's primary — overlapping pieces cannibalise rankings.
The Rationale tab is the easiest place to write notes that future you (or a teammate) will read before approving.

Gotchas and limits

Plans in Approved, Running, Completed, Cancelled, or Killed state are read-only — no editing, no padlock removal.
Removing a persona from the plan-level Build plan wouldn't auto-clean it off pieces; remove explicitly from each piece if needed.
Keyword picker only shows curated keywords from the source research artifact — you can't invent new ones here.
