Plans — Delete a Plan
Safe delete that counts what's about to disappear, lets you keep generated drafts in Asset Library, sweeps PDF exports from Storage, and refuses to run mid-execution.
What is it?
The Delete button in the Plan Detail header opens a modal that shows exactly what the action will affect — the plan itself, any PDF exports in Storage, and the count of drafts the queue generated from this plan. You decide whether to delete the drafts too, or keep them in Asset Library without the Plan badge.
When should I use it?
- A draft plan you never executed — clean slate, no side effects.
- A completed plan that produced bad drafts you don't want to keep.
- A completed plan that produced good drafts you want to keep, but the plan itself is clutter.
- A failed or cancelled plan you've moved on from.
How to use it
- Open the plan and click Delete in the header.
- Read the summary — the modal lists draft count + PDF export count.
- If the plan has generated drafts, pick one of:
- Delete the drafts (default) — removes them from Asset Library. Best for "I'm starting over". - Keep the drafts — leaves them in Asset Library but clears the Plan badge. They become regular drafts with no plan link.
- Click Delete plan to confirm. The CF wipes everything in one round-trip and you're returned to the Plans list.
Tips and best practices
- If you're not sure whether you'll want the drafts later, pick Keep. You can always delete individual drafts from Asset Library afterwards.
- For a plan with many PDF exports, deleting frees up Storage immediately — old signed-URL share links stop working.
- The two options on the radio are clearly labeled; there's no reason to read the modal twice.
Gotchas and limits
- Refuses to delete a plan in Running, Paused, Review, Cap reached, Pending, or Generating state. The button's tooltip warns you about this; the CF rejects with a friendly error if you somehow get past it. Cancel or Stop everything first.
- Delete is permanent — there's no undo. PDF exports are removed from Storage too.
- The CF takes a few seconds for plans with many exports (each Storage file is one delete call). A spinner shows on the confirm button until it finishes.
