Data Sources — Bing Webmaster Tools
Connect Bing Webmaster Tools to surface Bing-specific keyword opportunities and cross-engine wins that GSC misses.
What is it?
An API-key integration with Bing Webmaster Tools. Unlike GSC's OAuth, Bing uses a simple API key pulled from the Bing Webmaster Tools dashboard. Once connected, Bing query data is pulled in alongside GSC, and the Bing Edge / Bing Only filters in the Opportunity Finder become active.
When should I use it?
- The client has significant Bing traffic (common in certain demographics and industries).
- You want cross-engine keyword wins — often Bing ranks you better than Google for specific queries.
- You want to spot keywords you rank for only on Bing, completely invisible in GSC.
How to use it
- Log into Bing Webmaster Tools. Go to Settings → API Access.
- Generate an API key (or copy the existing one).
- In NexusSEO, click Connect Account on the Bing card.
- Paste the API Key and the verified Site URL.
- Save. The card shows the connected site.
Tips and best practices
- Bing's impression counts are typically 10–30% of Google's. Low numbers aren't bugs — they're just smaller.
- Bing's CTR for #1 ranking is higher than Google's — positions still matter a lot.
- Bing Edge filter finds keywords where Bing ranks better than Google. Double down on those — Bing's competitive gap is smaller.
Gotchas and limits
- Bing API has a daily query quota. Very large sites may hit it.
- Hebrew and Arabic are supported but with less coverage than English.
- Key must match the verified site URL exactly. If the URL has a trailing slash difference, it fails.
- Bing data typically lags 1–2 days behind Google's.
