My Settings — Drive Connection (Team Member)
As a team member, connect your own Google Drive — your exports route through it instead of the owner's account.
What is it?
Team members (Editors and Viewers) can connect their own Google Drive in My Settings. When you export a draft to Drive, the file is created in your Drive — not the owner's. This is a security feature: the owner's Drive token never leaves the server, so each user uses their own credentials. Per-user folder links also persist on each draft, so different users see their own export folders.
When should I use it?
- You're a team member and you want to export drafts to Drive (Word docs, content suites).
- You haven't connected your Drive yet and the export action shows a "Connect Drive" prompt.
- You're switching Google accounts and need to reconnect.
How to use it
- Open My Settings from the sidebar.
- Scroll to the Google Drive section.
- Click Connect Google Drive.
- Sign in with your Google account. Grant Drive permissions.
- Done — exports from this user account will now upload to your Drive.
Tips and best practices
- Use the same Google account you sign into NexusSEO with — simplest mental model.
- If your client uses Shared Drive mode, your exports for that client land in the Shared Drive folder regardless of your personal Drive — Shared Drive overrides personal.
- Coordinate with teammates on naming so per-user folders don't clutter shared spaces.
Gotchas and limits
- You must connect your own Drive before you can export — there's no fallback to the owner's Drive for security reasons.
- Drive permissions affect what you can do — if you grant only "view" scope, exports fail. Grant write permissions.
- Disconnecting Drive doesn't delete the files you've already uploaded. They stay in your Drive.
- If you sign out and back in with a different Google account, reconnect Drive to use the new account.
