Multi-Client Switching
How NexusSEO scopes data per client and what happens to your in-progress work when you switch.
What is it?
NexusSEO is a multi-tenant app. Almost every screen shows data scoped to the selected client — the one currently chosen in the sidebar dropdown. Switching clients reloads the screen with the new context. Your current selections, opened drafts, and in-progress edits are cleared. Be intentional about when you switch.
When should I use it?
- You manage multiple clients and need to move between them throughout the day.
- A team lead is reviewing several clients in sequence.
- You want a quick comparison — switch, observe, switch back.
How to use it
- In the sidebar, click the Selected Client dropdown.
- Type to search if you have many clients (the dropdown is searchable).
- Pick the client. Every screen reloads with their data.
- The selected client persists across sessions (per-device).
What gets scoped per client
- Dashboard KPIs and widgets
- Opportunity Finder keyword list
- Content Studio drafts and prompts
- Personas library
- Asset Library content
- Scheduler events
- Data Sources connections
- Agency Manager (single-client editing)
What is not scoped per client
- Your account info (My Settings)
- Help Center docs
- Admin Dashboard (cross-client)
- Drive connection (your own; if you connected your Drive, it works for all clients you access)
Tips and best practices
- Save drafts before switching — unsaved Content Studio edits disappear on switch.
- Use the search box in the dropdown — much faster than scrolling for agencies with 50+ clients.
- The current client is shown at the top of the sidebar with logo and name — a clear visual anchor.
Gotchas and limits
- The selected client persists across page refreshes. If you reopen the app, you land on the last-used client.
- Switching mid-generation: the generation continues server-side and the draft will appear in the original client's Asset Library when complete.
- If a client is deleted or you lose access (role revoked), the client switcher hides it on next refresh.
- Team members see only the clients they're members of — not the owner's full list.
